Session 8 Class 3

I was saying goodnight to my son and the famous line "I love you to the moon and back"  from the wonderful book, Guess How Much I Love You, popped into my head. Lightbulb moment I guess as I had been struggling all day to come up with an idea for this weeks class. I played around with the CTMH stamp with the saying and the new Stargazer paper as I didn't want this layout to be overly gender specific. I like that the title box isn't overpowering the layout, but you can still see it since I used a mask to create the double coloured image. I random stamped the stars around the image and then adhered the moon with 3D foam. I used the star image from the Charming Cascades stamp set in the corners of the base pages and then completed the layout with a rocket and Saturn cut with the Cricut. As the rocket ship paper is quite busy, it was important to find balance and not have it crowd the page. 

Calgary Scrapaholic Session 3 Class 4

The Snowhaven paper pack from the 2014-2015 catalogue is a non-traditional winter paper. I played up the red and grey in this pack by creating a mask from the CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge. I used the mask to sponge red, grey and blue ink to create a colorful backdrop to complement the paper. The effect of the sponging created a water colour look, you can see a close up in the picture below.  I used a word collage stamp for the title block in grey and to highlight Joy, I stamped it again in red and cut out Joy and used 3D foam tape to lift it. I finished off the layout by adding glitter tape and some jewels.

DRCC Session 5 Class #12

I had a request to use the For Always paper pack again as several of my students have some New York pictures and baby pictures that work really well with the black and white patterns. I decided to do 2 single page layouts that go together so that they could be combined as a single 2-page layout. You'll notice the scroll that repeats itself throughout the 2 pages plus I used red as my accent color. Instead of using cardstock for colored paper, I only used ink and inked the zipstrip as well as the edges of the cardstock in Ruby. I used the outline from when I cut out the scroll as a mask to create a corner accent with the red ink on the Together page.

On my Graduate page, I kept it fairly basic black and white, but inked some paper flowers red to tie in the red from the picture. I'm looking forward to seeing which colors each of my students will choose to use tomorrow. It will be a fun class to play around with. As another accent, I used a circle punch and cut out the corners of the picture mat and also the mat around the title. I accented both pages with rhinestones to give it some bling.

DRCC Session 3 Class #1

Welcome to a new session! This one will be shorter, only 8 classes this round, until the end of June. We will be taking a break over the summer and I will be back at it in September, this time with a 12-week session.

I pulled out an oldie paper pack, so old I forget the name... sorry about that. I had some left over so I thought we'd use it in this class as I had a request for some baby girl pictures. This layout could also be used for more of a romantically themed set of pictures. We used a small rub-on in the top left corner and we will also be using the masking technique as the journaling box stamp in the middle actually includes lines in the stamp. I didn't have as much journaling as the lines suggested and I wanted to use larger writing. This also leaves the space for a quote or another picture instead of journaling. For the more labor intensive scrapper, the title letters could also be cut out individually to give it a more versatile look. We are somewhat short on time in class so I thought a title box would be more suited for the class.
